Best Clothes Dryer in Israel: The Complete Buying Guide (2026)

Updated November 6, 2026. Written by Binyamin Elkalay. Compared on specs and Israeli shop prices, no lab testing.

For most families, the best clothes dryer in Israel is an ⁦8–9⁩ kg heat pump dryer with a moisture sensor and an official importer, which costs about ₪⁦1,950–4,950⁩ (NIS) based on store prices in November 2026. It’s more expensive than a regular condenser dryer, but according to sellers’ figures it uses about half the electricity per load, so it pays back the difference within a few years if you dry a lot.

We did not physically test the dryers. This guide is based on specs published by manufacturers and stores, prices we saw on Israeli price comparison sites, and warranty terms stated by sellers and importers. Below: dryer types, what capacity you need (in kg of dry laundry; 8 kg ≈ 17.6 lb), electricity use in shekels, the energy label, and models on sale now.

What to look at before buying

What to checkWhat it isOur recommendation
Dryer typeA heat pump recycles heat and uses little electricity; a condenser heats with an element and condenses the moisture; a vented dryer blows hot, humid air outside through a hose.Heat pump for anyone who dries more than twice a week. Condenser or vented only for light use or a very tight budget. Details in our condenser dryer guide.
CapacityHow many kg of dry laundry it can dry at once. Most dryers in Israel are 8 or 9 kg.Match your washing machine’s capacity: an ⁦8–9⁩ kg washer, an ⁦8–9⁩ kg dryer. For a family of 5 or more, 9 kg.
Electricity useAccording to sellers’ figures, an 8 kg condenser dryer uses about ⁦4.8 kWh⁩ for a full load after a 1,400 RPM spin, and a heat pump dryer about ⁦2.2–⁦2.6 kWh⁩⁩.At a residential rate of about ⁦60–70⁩ agorot per kWh, that’s about ₪3 per load for a condenser vs about ₪1.5 for a heat pump.
Moisture sensorA sensor that stops drying when the laundry is dry, instead of drying for a fixed time.A must. Almost every major-brand model has one (AutoDry on Bosch, SensiCare on Electrolux, OptimalDry on Samsung).
NoiseDryers publish noise in decibels, and the new label also has a noise class.Per sellers: Bosch WQG2328IL about ⁦62 dB⁩, WTH85225 about 63, WQG2429IL about 64, Electrolux EW7H3863RBM about 66. If the dryer is near bedrooms, prefer ⁦62–64.⁩
Water drainageIn heat pump and condenser dryers, water collects in a tank you empty, or goes out through a hose to the drain. If there’s a drain nearby, connect the drain hose (on some models, like the Bosch WQG2429IL, a drain kit is included per sellers) and forget about the tank.
Importer and warrantyThe official importer (yevuan rasmi) provides warranty and technician service. A heat pump dryer has a refrigeration system, and repairing it requires a certified technician.Buy with an official-importer warranty. For the Samsung DV90DG52A0AE, sellers list a ⁦10–20⁩ year motor warranty; ask for the terms in writing.

Which clothes dryer is best for most homes in Israel?

The short answer: an ⁦8–9⁩ kg heat pump dryer with a moisture sensor, an official-importer warranty and a location that lets you connect it to a drain, on a budget of about ₪⁦1,950–3,700.⁩

Most Israelis use a dryer mainly in winter, on rainy days, or when they need clothes fast. So the first question isn’t which brand, but how many times a week you’ll dry. If you dry once or twice a week only in the winter months, a cheap condenser dryer will do. If you dry almost every load all year round, for example a large family in an apartment without a sunny balcony, you’ll benefit from a heat pump dryer that uses less electricity.

On the dryer comparison page in November 2026, most models at the top of the list are ⁦8–9⁩ kg heat pump dryers from Bosch, Samsung, Electrolux, AEG and LG, at starting prices of about ₪⁦1,950–3,700.⁩ Alongside them are condenser dryers at about ₪⁦1,050–3,200⁩ and a few cheap vented dryers.

What matters in any dryer, regardless of type:

  • A moisture sensor that stops drying when the laundry is dry.
  • An accessible lint filter that’s easy to clean.
  • An anti-crease program at the end of drying.
  • Physical compatibility with the washing machine if you stack it on top.

The full explanation of the differences between heat pump, condenser and vented dryers, including how each works, is in our condenser dryer guide. Here we focus on the practical choice: size, cost, installation and models.

Remember that we did not lab-test the dryers. All the numbers here come from specs published by manufacturers and stores, and from prices we saw in November 2026. Prices change fast, especially around winter and in year-end sales, so use them as a range, not a quote.

One more thing: if you have an old washing machine with an ⁦800–1,000⁩ RPM spin, the dryer will work harder every cycle. Sometimes upgrading to a washer with a 1,400 RPM spin saves more on drying than any difference between dryers.

Heat pump, condenser or vented: the difference in brief

A heat pump is electricity-efficient and slower; a condenser is fast and cheap to buy but uses a lot of electricity; a vented dryer is the cheapest but needs a hose to the outside.

The main differences based on the specs and prices we saw:

  • Heat pump: about ⁦600–1,000⁩ watts per sellers, about ⁦2.2–⁦2.6 kWh⁩⁩ per full load per sellers’ figures, priced at about ₪⁦1,950–5,900.⁩ No exhaust hose needed; water collects in a tank or goes to the drain.
  • Condenser: about ⁦2,700–2,800⁩ watts, about ⁦4.8 kWh⁩ per full load per sellers’ figures, priced at about ₪⁦1,050–3,200.⁩ No exhaust hose needed here either.
  • Vented: about 2,000 watts on the model we saw (Midea MD100A70/W), priced at about ₪⁦1,250–1,800.⁩ It needs a hose that vents hot, humid air outside through a window or wall opening.

In Israeli searches the phrase “condenser dryer” is very common, and it’s sometimes used for heat pump dryers too, since they also have a condenser. On product pages we saw heat pump dryers described as “heat pump with condenser”. The key distinction is how the heat is produced: in a heat pump it’s recycled, and in a regular condenser dryer it comes from an electric heating element.

In terms of time, a heat pump dryer is usually slower than a condenser of the same capacity, because it dries at a lower temperature. The advantage of a lower temperature is that it’s gentler on clothes. The disadvantage is that on a rushed morning, a full load takes longer. Most models offer a ⁦35–40⁩ minute quick program for a small load, such as SuperQuick 40 on Bosch and a 35-minute program on Samsung.

If you’re choosing between types on budget alone, remember that the purchase price is only part of the cost. The next section shows what each load costs.

Bottom line: if you’re not sure, a heat pump is the safe choice. It needs no opening to the outside, uses less electricity, is gentler on clothes, and at November 2026 prices its gap over a similar-brand condenser has narrowed to a few hundred shekels on entry models.

How much does a load cost? The electricity bill in shekels

According to sellers’ figures, a full 8 kg load costs about ₪3 in a condenser dryer and about ₪1.5 in a heat pump dryer, at a residential rate of about ⁦60–70⁩ agorot per kWh.

The calculation is based on the figures the sellers themselves publish:

  • Electrolux EW6C4824CB (condenser, 8 kg): about ⁦4.83 kWh⁩ per full load after a 1,400 RPM spin.
  • AEG TX6G821 (condenser, 8 kg): about ⁦4.81 kWh⁩.
  • Bosch WTH85225 (heat pump, 8 kg): about ⁦2.24 kWh⁩ per load after a 1,000 RPM spin.
  • Electrolux EW7H3863RBM (heat pump, 8 kg): about ⁦2.6 kWh⁩ per one seller.

Per year: a family that dries 3 times a week all year runs about 150 cycles. In a condenser dryer that’s about ⁦720 kWh⁩, i.e. about ₪⁦430–500⁩ a year. In a heat pump dryer about ⁦340–⁦390 kWh⁩⁩, i.e. about ₪⁦200–270⁩ a year. The difference is about ₪⁦200–250⁩ a year. If the purchase price gap between two dryers is about ₪⁦500–700,⁩ the saving pays it back within ⁦2–3⁩ years.

By contrast, a family that dries once a week only in the five winter months runs about 20 cycles a year. The electricity difference there is about ₪30 a year, and a heat pump dryer won’t pay for itself within a reasonable time.

Three things that lower the cost on any dryer:

  • A strong spin in the washing machine. The Standards Institution of Israel notes that a fast spin before drying saves energy and shortens drying time. A 1,400 RPM washer is better; see our best washing machine guide.
  • Drying by moisture sensor, not by time.
  • Cleaning the lint filter after every load. A clogged filter lengthens drying and raises consumption.

The rate we used is an estimate; check the rate on your own electricity bill, including time-of-use plans if you have one.

Energy labels on dryers: why the same dryer gets A+++ and D

With dryers the rating confusion is even greater than with washing machines, because in Israel an old Israeli rating, the old European label (A+++ to D) and sometimes a new class all appear side by side; so compare kWh, not letters.

What we saw on product pages: the Bosch WQG2328IL, a heat pump dryer, appears at Bug (an Israeli retailer) with a D rating. The Bosch WQG2429IL appears on the comparison page with B, and at other sellers with A++ and D. The LG FD1609BD appears with A, A++ and D. The Samsung DV90DG52A0AE appears on most pages with A+++ and at one seller with C. The comparison page itself notes that the rating depends on the Israeli standard and sometimes differs from standards in other countries, and recommends checking it in the store.

Why this happens:

  • Since September 1, 2022, Israel has been moving to European standards and labeling, but the old regulations haven’t been repealed, so both systems apply in parallel during a transition period.
  • In Europe too, the dryer label is changing. According to BSH’s Siemens Israel site, a new A–G dryer label applies from January 1, 2027, replacing the old A+++ to D scale. On the new label, consumption is shown per 100 drying cycles, along with a noise class and condensation efficiency.
  • The result: an efficient heat pump dryer can show a low letter on one scale and A+++ on another.

What to do in practice:

  • Compare electricity use in kWh per load or per 100 cycles.
  • Check the condensation efficiency (e.g. C, 83% on the Bosch WQG2328IL per Bug): the higher it is, the less moisture stays in the room.
  • Check the noise in decibels.

The simple rule: any heat pump dryer uses less electricity than any condenser dryer of the same capacity, regardless of the letter on it.

What capacity dryer do you need, and how to match it to your washer

An 8 kg dryer suits an ⁦8–9⁩ kg washing machine and a family of ⁦2–4⁩; a 9 kg dryer suits a ⁦9–10⁩ kg washer and a large family.

When drying, clothes need room to tumble and for air to flow between them. So don’t fill the dryer to the brim, and don’t buy a dryer smaller than your washer. If the washer takes 9 kg and the dryer 7, every full load will need splitting.

Practical matching:

  • An 8 kg washing machine: an 8 kg dryer. See our 8 kg washing machine guide.
  • A 9 kg washer: an ⁦8–9⁩ kg dryer. In most homes 8 kg is enough, since some laundry (delicates, wool) doesn’t go in the dryer anyway.
  • A 10 kg or larger washer: a 9 kg dryer.

For a washer-dryer stack:

  • Both appliances must be ⁦60 cm⁩ (24 in) wide and of similar depth.
  • You need the manufacturer’s stacking kit, which secures the dryer on top of the washer.
  • The total height is about 1.75 m (5 ft 9 in), so the dryer’s controls are high. Make sure you can reach them comfortably and empty the water tank if you haven’t connected it to the drain.
  • In a stack, a dryer with a drain hose is better, because emptying a tank from about 1.70 m up is awkward.

If there’s no room for two appliances, the alternative is a washer-dryer combo, but its drying capacity is small (usually 6 kg on a 9 kg machine). And if you don’t have ⁦60 cm⁩ of width, a top-loading washing machine doesn’t let you stack a dryer on top, so you’ll need a separate spot.

Another consideration in choosing capacity is the type of laundry. Towels, bedding and jeans are heavy, bulky and dry slowly. If most of what you dry is towels and bedding, 9 kg gives headroom that shortens drying. If most of it is light everyday clothes, 8 kg will be enough even for a family of 5. The price difference between 8 and 9 kg in the same brand is usually a few hundred shekels.

Installation, electricity and drainage: what to check before the dryer arrives

A heat pump or condenser dryer doesn’t need an exhaust hose to the outside, but it does need a suitable outlet, a ventilated spot and preferably a drain connection; a vented dryer also needs an opening to the outside.

Electricity:

  • Per sellers, a condenser dryer draws about ⁦2,700–2,800⁩ watts, a vented dryer about 2,000 watts, and a heat pump dryer about ⁦600–1,000⁩ watts.
  • A regular 16-amp household circuit carries about 3,680 watts (Israel runs on 230V). A condenser dryer together with a washing machine heating water (about ⁦2,000–2,300⁩ watts) exceeds that, and the breaker may trip.
  • So: a separate outlet for the dryer, or at least don’t run it together with the washer, oven or kettle on the same circuit. With a heat pump dryer the problem is much smaller.
  • Don’t use a power strip or extension cord for a dryer.

Drainage and water:

  • In heat pump and condenser dryers, water collects in a tank that must be emptied after every load or two.
  • Most models let you connect a hose to the drain. On the Bosch WQG2328IL and WQG2429IL, the drain kit is included per sellers.

Ventilation:

  • Even a ventless dryer releases heat and some moisture into the room. In a small, enclosed laundry porch (mirpeset sherut), open a window while drying.
  • A vented dryer needs a hose to a window or wall opening. Without one, the moisture stays in the room and causes mold.

Location:

  • Don’t install a heat pump dryer in a very cold room; manufacturers usually specify an ambient temperature range for proper operation, so check the manual.
  • Make sure the door opening direction suits the spot. On the Bosch WQG2328IL the hinge is on the right per Bug, and on some models, like the Samsung DV90DG52A0AE, the door is reversible per the specs.

Importers, warranty and dryer maintenance

Buy a dryer with an official-importer warranty and clean the filters regularly; on a heat pump dryer, repairing the refrigeration system requires a certified technician, so service matters.

What we saw on product pages regarding importers:

  • Bosch: most sellers list BSH as the official importer, in some cases with an extended VIP warranty. Bug lists a one-year warranty subject to the BSH certificate for the WQG2328IL.
  • LG: one seller lists Brimag as the importer for the FD1609BD, and at Bug, Brimag Digital appears as the warranty provider for the FD1809GB.
  • Samsung: one seller lists Newpro as the importer for the DV90DG52A0AE, and most sellers list a 20-year motor warranty, one of them 10.
  • Midea: one seller lists a one-year warranty through Hamilton, the official importer, for the MD100A70/W.
  • Electrolux and AEG: the pages for the EW7H3863RBM, EW6C4824CB and TX6G821 don’t list an importer, so ask the seller.

Maintenance that prevents most problems:

  • Clean the lint filter in the door after every load.
  • Clean the condenser or the extra filter per the manufacturer’s instructions, usually every few weeks. On the LG FD1609BD the condenser cleans itself per the specs, and Bosch has a double EasyClean filter.
  • Empty the water tank if the dryer isn’t connected to a drain.
  • Wipe the moisture sensors in the drum occasionally, because a fabric-softener film on them can disrupt automatic stopping.

If the dryer starts drying slowly, the common cause is a clogged filter or condenser, not a fault. Only after cleaning, contact the importer’s service. For choosing a washing machine to pair with the dryer, see our Bosch washing machine and LG washing machine guides.

As for extended warranty: a heat pump dryer contains a compressor and refrigerant, like a small AC. A fault in that system costs more than one in a condenser dryer, so a long warranty on the compressor or the whole dryer is worth checking. Ask explicitly whether the warranty covers the compressor, not just the drum motor.

The bottom line

Recommended type: Heat pump. Capacity: 8 kg for ⁦2–4⁩ people, 9 kg for a large family.

FAQ: best clothes dryer in Israel

What is the best clothes dryer to buy in Israel in 2026?

For most families, an ⁦8–9⁩ kg heat pump dryer with a moisture sensor and an official importer. Based on specs and prices, the Electrolux EW7H3863RBM, Bosch WTH85225 and Samsung DV90DG52A0AE are good entry points, and the Bosch WQG2429IL and LG FD1609BD are a step up.

How much does a good dryer cost in Israel?

Based on store prices in November 2026, an ⁦8–9⁩ kg heat pump dryer from a known brand costs about ₪⁦1,950–4,950.⁩ A condenser dryer costs about ₪⁦1,050–3,200,⁩ and a vented dryer about ₪⁦1,250–1,800.⁩

Heat pump dryer or condenser dryer?

Per sellers’ figures, a heat pump uses about half the electricity of a condenser, but it’s more expensive and slower. If you dry 3 or more times a week, a heat pump pays off. Details in our condenser dryer guide.

How much electricity does a clothes dryer use?

Per sellers’ figures, a full 8 kg load uses about ⁦4.8 kWh⁩ in a condenser dryer and about ⁦2.2–⁦2.6 kWh⁩⁩ in a heat pump dryer. At about ⁦60–70⁩ agorot per kWh, that’s about ₪3 vs about ₪1.5 per load.

Can I plug the dryer and washing machine into the same outlet?

Not recommended, and certainly don’t run them together on a 16-amp circuit if the dryer is a condenser model of about 2,800 watts. A ⁦600–1,000⁩ watt heat pump dryer loads the circuit much less, but a separate outlet is still better.

Does a dryer need an exhaust hose?

Only a vented dryer. In heat pump and condenser dryers, water collects in a tank or goes out through a hose to the drain, and no opening to the outside is needed.

What capacity dryer do I need?

8 kg suits an ⁦8–9⁩ kg washing machine and a family of ⁦2–4.⁩ 9 kg suits a ⁦9–10⁩ kg washer and a large family. Don’t buy a dryer significantly smaller than your washer.

Why is my dryer drying slowly?

The common cause is a clogged lint filter or condenser, or an oversized load. Clean the filters, make sure the laundry was spun well in the washer, and check that the moisture sensors are clean. If that doesn’t help, contact the importer’s service.

Separate dryer or washer-dryer combo?

If there’s room for a stack of two appliances, a separate dryer dries more each time and lets you wash and dry in parallel. A washer-dryer combo suits a space for only one appliance.

Does a dryer ruin clothes?

High-heat drying can shrink delicate clothes. Heat pump dryers dry at a lower temperature, and most dryers include programs for delicates and wool. Follow the care instructions on the garment label.
