Electra washing machine: what you get and what to watch for (2026)

An Electra washing machine suits buyers for whom budget comes first and who want a long warranty, provided they check the full specs before buying.

Electra is a well-known Israeli company, mainly for its air conditioners (see our Tadiran vs Electra air conditioner guide), and it also sells washing machines under its own name. According to marketing articles Electra Retail published on ynet and Kipa (labeled as sponsored content), the machines were "born in Israel and made around the world," meaning designed here and built in unnamed factories abroad. Those articles say prices start at ₪799, large machines start at ₪1,590 and washer-dryer combos start at ₪1,890. These are the company's figures, not our testing.

What's in the range? Per the articles and product pages:

• Front-loaders of 6, 7, 8 and 9 kg.
• Large machines of 10, 12 and 18 kg.
• Top-loaders and washer-dryer combos.

Who it suits:

• A rental apartment, a young couple or a family that wants ⁦9–10⁩ kg for under ₪2,000.
• Anyone who prefers a 5-year warranty over an international brand with one year.
• Anyone living in an area with good Electra service. Check this before buying.

Who it suits less:

• Anyone who wants to compare prices across dozens of stores: Electra models hardly appear on the major comparison pages.
• Anyone who wants detailed noise and energy data for every model, which some pages simply don't list.

An important point on priorities: with a washing machine, the quality of after-sales service matters almost as much as the machine itself. A cheap machine with a technician who comes within two days can be a better experience than an expensive one with slow service. So before choosing Electra, or any brand, ask neighbors and friends in your area about technician response times.

In November 2026, Electra's product pages feature two 9 kg models (EL900, EL914) and two 10 kg models (EL100386, EL1015BL), all spinning at 1,400 rpm or more.

Per the product pages at Payngo:

• Electra EL900: 9 kg, 1,400 rpm, sale price about ₪1,390 (previous price about ₪1,550). The page mentions 7, 8, 10 and 12 kg sizes in the same series.
• Electra EL914: 9 kg, 1,400 rpm, about ₪1,590 (previously about ₪1,750).
• Electra EL100386: 10 kg, 1,400 rpm, A rating, 62-liter drum, about ₪1,645 (previously about ₪1,960).
• Electra EL1015BL: 10 kg, up to 1,500 rpm, A rating, 70-liter drum, black, about ₪2,590 (previously about ₪3,080).

Search results also show other models, such as an 18 kg machine (EL1800), a washer-dryer combo with 10 kg wash and 7 kg dry (EL100188) and an 8 kg top-loader (ETL100180WH). We couldn't open their product pages at the time of writing, so they are not included in our picks.

Which model to choose?

• A couple or family of 3: EL900. The gap versus EL914 is about ₪200, and on the pages we checked we found no spec difference that explains it. Ask the seller to show you the difference.
• A family of ⁦4–5⁩: EL100386. At 10 kg the extended warranty is free per the page, and the gap from 9 kg is small.
• Anyone who wants add-laundry mid-cycle and a silent mode: EL1015BL. But at its regular price it is already in the range of the AEG LF61144BM and LG WF10114WBW, covered in our 10 kg washing machine guide.

Tip: Electra prices on the pages are shown as a sale price versus a previous price. The gap was about ₪⁦150–500⁩ on the models we checked. Don't assume the sale ends tomorrow; promotions like these come back often.

Per the full specs published for the two 10 kg models, Electra offers a BLDC inverter motor and an A rating, similar in energy use to mid-range imported models, but louder on spin.

The data, per the product pages:

• Electra EL1015BL: A rating, about ⁦51 kWh⁩ per 100 cycles (⁦0.513 kWh⁩ per weighted cycle), about 53 liters on average and 68 liters at full load, spin efficiency B, ⁦80 dB⁩ on spin (class C), 1,950 watts.
• Electra EL100386: A rating, about 51 liters per weighted cycle, ⁦62 dB⁩ on wash and 76 on spin, 2,000 watts, IPX4 splash protection.

For comparison: the 10 kg AEG LF61144BM also declares about ⁦51 kWh⁩ per 100 cycles. So there is no significant gap in electricity use. The gap shows mainly in spin noise, and on the EL1015BL also in its class C rating.

What is a BLDC motor? A brushless motor (no carbon brushes), like the motors Bosch calls EcoSilence, LG calls Inverter Direct Drive and Samsung calls Digital Inverter. Such a motor is quieter and wears less than one with brushes. It is now standard on most new machines, not a unique advantage.

What's missing on the 9 kg pages? For EL900 and EL914 the page shows only capacity and spin speed. No rating, no kWh, no dimensions and no noise. Under the rules of the Standards Institution of Israel (Machon HaTkanim), every washing machine imported into Israel must carry an energy label with consumption data, so the information exists. Ask the seller for it or check the label in the store.

Programs: per the EL1015BL specs, it has 14 programs, including Quick 15, Drum Clean, ECO ⁦40-60,⁩ wool, bedding, baby and 20°C (68°F). These are the programs most families actually use, so there is no disadvantage versus expensive brands here.

An extra worth noting: according to Electra, some models have a hygiene program up to about 100°C (212°F), an ozone stain program and smart dosing. These are claims from the marketing articles; check the product page of the specific model you buy to confirm it has them.

Electra offers a 5-year warranty (1 year plus 4), but only under certain conditions: on some models for an extra fee, and on all of them with registration within 14 days.

Per the Payngo product pages in November 2026:

• Machines of 10 kg and up: 1+4 warranty at no extra cost, in a promotion running until December 31, 2026.
• Smaller machines (such as the 9 kg EL900 and EL914): 1+4 warranty for ₪199 extra.
• Condition: registration within 14 days of receiving the machine.
• Warranty provider: Electra, presented as the official importer. Service center per the page: *2067.
• There is a list of models excluded from the promotion; per the page, EL1015BL is not on it.

What this means in practice: on a 9 kg machine, the real price with a 5-year warranty is the listed price plus ₪199. EL900 then costs about ₪1,590 and EL914 about ₪1,790. That is still cheaper than a 9 kg Bosch or LG, which usually comes with one year plus a motor warranty, depending on the importer.

What to check:

• What is covered in years ⁦2–5⁩: parts, labor, or only the motor? The page doesn't say. Ask for the warranty certificate.
• How do you register: online, by phone or automatically at the store? Ask for written confirmation.
• Technician response times in your area, especially in outlying regions (the periphery).

On promotions in general: extended warranty promotions change and have an end date. If you buy close to the end of the promotion, make sure the invoice date and registration date fall within the period. Promotions and low prices are also explained in our cheap washing machine guide.

Also note that extended warranty promotions usually come with a clear end date, and some terms apply only to a machine bought and registered within that period.

For Bosch, LG and Samsung you can see a price range across dozens of stores; with Electra, the right approach is to compare the total price, including warranty, against an equivalent machine from another brand.

According to Electra, the company sells directly to consumers. In practice, we found almost none of its washing machines on the major comparison pages, so we have no multi-store price range as with other brands. How to compare properly:

• 9 kg Electra vs 9 kg from another brand: EL914 at about ₪1,590 (plus ₪199 for the 5-year warranty) vs Samsung WW90CGC045AE from about ₪1,810, LG WFS9014WW from about ₪1,880 or Bosch WAN28289IL from about ₪1,880.
• 10 kg Electra vs 10 kg: EL100386 at about ₪1,645 vs LG WF10114WBW from about ₪2,050 and Haier HW100-B14979S8 from about ₪2,020.

In other words, with Electra you usually save ₪⁦300–500⁩ on a machine of similar size and get a longer warranty. What you give up: less documented specs on some models, advanced load sensing (not mentioned on the pages we checked), and a service network whose quality you need to check locally.

One more thing: when comparing prices, add delivery. The EL1015BL page said the only option was store pickup and that few units were left. The EL900 and EL914 pages mentioned next-day delivery. Ask about delivery, carrying it into your home and removal of the old machine before deciding.

And if the price looks too good: make sure it is a new machine, not a display unit, and that the warranty is Electra's and not another distributor's.

It is also worth saving a screenshot of the product page on the day you buy, including the specs and warranty terms. If the promotion terms change later, you will have a record of what was promised at the time of purchase.

Electra wins when price and a long warranty matter most; an imported brand wins when quiet operation, documented specs and a wide choice of stores matter to you.

A practical comparison:

• Budget up to ₪1,700 for a ⁦9–10⁩ kg machine: Electra (EL900, EL914, EL100386) has almost no brand-name competitors. The closest alternative is the 9 kg Samsung WW9STA046AH from about ₪1,310, with a lower rating on some pages.
• Budget ₪⁦1,800–2,500⁩: here you already get Bosch, LG and Samsung with 1,400 rpm and load sensing. See our Bosch washing machine, LG washing machine and Samsung washing machine guides.
• A quiet machine for an open kitchen: check the decibel figures. Bosch Series 6 declares about ⁦50 dB⁩ on wash, Electra EL100386 62.
• Long warranty: Electra offers 5 years (with conditions), while LG and Bosch, at some sellers, give a long warranty on the motor only.

Worth knowing: according to some sellers on comparison pages, Electra is also the official importer of Miele in Israel. So the same service network may also handle premium machines. Details in our Miele washing machine guide.

The bottom line: if you choose Electra, pick a model with full specs on the product page, register the warranty within 14 days, and check in advance who the technician in your area is. If you choose an imported brand, make sure the warranty is from the official importer (yevuan rasmi), not a parallel import (yevu makbil).

Before ordering an Electra washing machine, get written answers to eight questions; they prevent most post-purchase surprises.

• What is the energy rating on the new label, and how many kWh per 100 cycles? If the page has no figure, ask for a photo of the label.
• What are the exact dimensions, including depth with the door? Per the specs, Electra's 10 kg machines are about ⁦56.5–⁦57.7 cm⁩⁩ (⁦22.2–22.7⁩ in) deep.
• How many decibels on wash and spin? If the machine is near a bedroom, this is a real consideration.
• Does the 5-year warranty include parts and labor, or parts only?
• Is warranty registration done at the store, or do you need to do it yourself within 14 days?
• Who is the technician in your area, and what is the average response time?
• Does delivery include carrying it into your home, basic installation and removal of the old machine?
• Is the machine new in the box, or a display unit?

If you get clear answers to all the questions, you are buying a low-priced machine with a long warranty and known terms. If some answers are unclear, the ₪⁦300–500⁩ gap versus an imported brand with documented specs and known service in your area may be worth it.

An Electra machine connects like any washing machine: a regular outlet, a cold-water faucet and a drain; what matters is removing the shipping bolts and leveling the feet.

Per the EL1015BL specs, the power cord is 1.5 m (about 5 ft) long and the water hose 1 m (about 3.3 ft). That's relatively short, so make sure the outlet and faucet are close to the niche, and don't use a splitter or extension cord. Heating power is about ⁦1,950–2,000⁩ watts (Israel runs on 230V/50Hz), so if a dryer runs at the same time on the same circuit, the breaker may trip, especially with a condenser dryer.

Before the first use:

• Remove the shipping bolts from the back of the machine and keep them for future moves.
• Level the machine with a spirit level; a crooked machine shakes on spin.
• Run a short empty cycle to check for leaks.
• Register the warranty.

Maintenance: EL1015BL has a dedicated Drum Clean program. Run it once a month, especially with hard water. Clean the pump filter every month or two, leave the door and detergent drawer open after washing, and don't overdo the powder.
